Devex seeks a reporter to lead our coverage of the world’s largest development bank – and the world’s largest hub for international development and humanitarian relief in Washington, D.C. This is a unique opportunity for a mid-level reporter or enterprising self-starter with a pocketbook of ideas and contacts – especially within and around the World Bank – to cover the fascinating and high-stakes business of foreign aid and the story behind headlines on everything from Egypt to India, climate change to country ownership, World Bank reform to changes in procurement and public-private partnerships.
Our international development reporter will cover a global beat but focus on the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank and, to a lesser degree, the U.S. government (including the White House, USAID, MCC and Congress) as well as the many aid groups located in the Americas and elsewhere around the globe. She will attend events, interview top officials and break stories regularly.
Devex is the leading media brand for global development; it has been covered in a variety of news outlets and dubbed the “Bloomberg of international development.” Our audience exceeds half a million, and we’re growing fast. Our DC reporter will be part of a growing newsroom that includes correspondents, bloggers and other writers in our Barcelona, Manila and Tokyo offices as well as elsewhere around the globe.
