Job Description

    A Business Development Manager with Hilton Hotels and Resorts will lead efforts to increase sales, revenue, reservations, and group and event marketing through the development of new and the expansion of existing business.

    What will I be doing?
  • Accountability for delivering departmental objectives:
    • Total Hotel Revenue Targets (Rooms, C&E and F&B)
    • Fair Market Share Targets
    • eCommerce Targets and web audits
    • Channel performance targets
    • Conversion Targets in the groups department
    • Mystery Guest Targets and improvement
    • Quality Client experience, and correct sales format always followed
    • Turnaround times and Quality of Proposals
    • Up selling (Reservations, Front Desk and GC&E)
    • Accurate and timely billing
    • Money / Payment Collection
  • Own commercial strategy from planning through to execution using the Hilton Worldwide commercial focus process
  • Direct and oversee all commercial  activities from demand generation to maximizing conversion, ensuring correct policies and procedures as set out by the Hotel and Hilton Worldwide are followed
  • Own the creation and execution of the annual Departmental plans
  • Liaise with regional commercial and brand teams to provide maximum benefit to hotel performance
  • Support the Cluster Revenue:
    • Controlling rates and inventory in OnQ PM and R&I
    • Drawing up Statistics and reports
    • Yearly Rate Strategies (Managed and Unmanaged Segments)
    • Ideas RMS system maintenance and setup
    • Management reports as needed
    • Weekly and Monthly Rooms Forecasts
    • GC&E forecasts
    • Yearly budget planning
  • Regular Communication:
    • Monthly departmental meetings
    • Between Sales, Revenue and other Operational Departments

Job Requirements

What are we looking for?

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills
·         Ability to communicate effectively with Management and Ownership groups verbally and in writing
·         Excellent organization skills
·         Ability to work well under deadline pressure
·         Certifiable in the use of all Hilton revenue management database systems and tools. Strong experience or adaptable training in the use of automated systems, personal computers and software programs.
·         Sales experience in either field or on-site environment.
·         Adaptable to schedule changes.
·         Excellent interpersonal skills and possession of a full understanding of professional ethics, decorum and social skills. Extensive interaction with customers, investment ownerships and business partners required. Must be able to adapt to different audiences dictated by culture and country or origin.

Required qualifications:

·         Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office tools
·         Significant experience of three (3) or more years in Head of Department Role.
·         Three (3) years cross-functional experience in hotel management, or related industry, essential.  Cross brand or product line experience preferred.
·         Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English plus one additional language.
·         Ability to perform critical analysis.


Preferred qualifications:

·         Formal tertiary qualification in related field
·         Adaptable experience with travel industry reservation systems.
·         Adaptable experience with hotel property management systems.
·         Strong experience in hospitality forecasting, pricing and inventory control
