Job Description
Responsibilities- Lead the creation, development and implementation of innovations that transform Living Goods’ social impact and financial sustainability – for instance, customer credit initiatives, new distribution models, strategic partnerships.
- Observe Living Goods operations; identify opportunities for game-changing advancements; develop solutions; champion execution.
- Research and explore developments and innovations by others in the social and private sectors which may be transferable to Living Goods’ operations.
- Maximize mobile tools: Optimize the use of the mobile communications platform to drive sales, deepen impacts, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
- Test, monitor, assess and refine new initiatives.
- Coordinate innovations across countries and across departments.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Technology, Finance, Training and Monitoring teams.
- Contribute to strategy as a key member of the core management team.
- Potential to rapidly take on even greater responsibility based on performance.
- Travel: This position is based in either Kampala or Nairobi with up to 40% travel time between the two.
Job Requirements
Qualifications- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree desirable.
- Minimum of 5-7 years exceptional experience in a social enterprise in developing countries, ideally including East Africa. Comparable business experience may suffice.
- Extensive experience in at least two of the following fields: microcredit, technology, mhealth, sales, marketing and distribution.
- Experience working across teams and disciplines.
- Proven track record of success in innovation.
- Proven track record of success in implementation.
