Job Description

 Purpose of the position

·         Under minimal supervision, acts as the technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute effective repairs to products at the customer’s site.

Responsibilities:

·         Performs diagnostics on defective engines at customer site with minimal instruction.

·         Develops repair work plans, with coaching from  Master Field Service Technicians / Supervisor, based on diagnostic results and customer’s and/or service advisor’s description of the problem

·         Escalates unresolved  issues to more Master Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor

·         Follows documented procedures and policies to complete required repairs

·         Conducts preventative maintenances as per documented schedules and standards

·         Establishes and maintains productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs

·         Completes required documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

·          Highlight ‘up-sell’ opportunities to the Customer

·         Undertakes and completes training in line with skill and business requirements

·         Ensures service vehicle is clean and presentable to the highest standard

·         Maintains proper tooling to enable efficient repair performance and profitability

·         Ensure adherence to all relevant HS&E policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

Job Requirements

 Required Skill and Experience

·         At least 5 years  post trade  test experience as a Diesel  Mechanic/ Fitter

·         Advanced level of product knowledge

·         Experience as workshop technician or other relevant experience

·         Field service work experience

·         Customer service 

·         Successfully worked independently for periods of time

·         Must have a very good working knowledge of English and French

LIQualifications

  Apprentice Trained Diesel Technician (Trade Test Certificate)
Locally valid driving permit
