Job Description

 As a member of the Roche team in Ghana, you will play a leadership role in driving the medical scientific direction across strategic therapeutic areas by addressing medical needs to support further patient’s outcomes and Roche market positioning.  Relying on solid medical expertise, customer insights and clear business understanding, you will be translating global medical goals into local scientific objectives.
Having responsibility for the delivery of medical scientific input to product strategy in tight collaboration with the business, you will be:

• Leading the development and implementation of a strong medical strategy,  formulating local medical plans in line with local marketing goals and global medical affairs strategy and overseeing the medical marketing budget
• Providing scientific leadership and contribution to local clinical programs development while maximizing opportunity at local level according to global strategy and procedures 
• Sharing expert advice based on solid medical expertise, product knowledge and market intelligence for greater impact and integrity of communicated medical data,  product & disease specific messages, promotional and publication related activities
• Playing an integral part in exceeding commercial targets by fostering excellent scientific relationships with KOLs, responding to external queries from doctors & specialists, sharing best practices,  planning & executing advisory boards/expert meetings
• Offering expertise and customer insights to commercial team and leading the development and delivery of  training to staff and vendors
• Working in line with global product strategies and in adherence with Roche policy & SOPs, high standards of compliance & ethics and safety requirements.

This challenging role requires the following experience and skills:

• Medical Degree is a must, preferably higher degree and / or specialist accreditation
• Solid knowledge of specialty therapeutic areas,  ideally experience in Oncology and industry tenure  in medical management and advisory roles
• Expertise in the development of clinical trials, understanding of  data analysis principles and  successful record in delivering clinical publications & presentations
• Previous exposure in drug discovery and commercialization processes;  relevant knowledge of  ICH, GCP and local regulations
• Result orientation, leadership presence and business acumen coupled with excellent interpersonal skills to influence internal and external stakeholders
• Very good MS Office literacy
